Purdy Elementary is a great school! This fact was recently affirmed by the Center for Educational Effectiveness and Phi Delta Kappa-Washington. On September 26, 2009 we received a 2009 School of Distinction Award. As stated in the notification letter. “Over the past seven years, Purdy Elementary has demonstrated exemplary improvement in student achievement as measured by the WASL. In fact, you are one of the 5% highest improving schools, at the elementary level, in the State of Washington.” We received a display banner that reads, “Great Teachers, Great Leaders, Great School.” this banner will serve to remind us that great things happen when we work together towards common goals. It is a poignant example of our staff theme: “Teamwork makes the dream work.” Being a distinguished School is truly an honor.
